It all started in 1947 in a garage in downtown Napa next to the Napa river. Young Jesse Pittore Jr and his grandfather, Zalindo Peri, were barrel tasting his grandfather's homemade red wine. This same wine turned out to then be present at every family meal he had thereafter and consequently a seed for wine making was planted in young Jesse Jr. as well as a tradition for family production and a love for great red wine. 25 years later Jesse Jr acquired some land at the base of Atlas Peak in the Napa Valley and after raising two sons, Michael and Nicholas, with his beautiful wife Brenda, Jesse Jr decided it was time to take up the tradition started 60 years prior and the first small vineyard was planted on the Atlas Peak estate in 2006.
At the base of Atlas Peak, the southwest sloping vineyard is subject to the best of both the rocky, dry and volcanic soil of Atlas Peak and the climate of the valley floor at the very same time; producing exceptionally complex flavors.
The Pittore Family has had its roots in the Napa Valley for over 100 years and is excited to now share the fruits of its labor with you!
